C. Kechagioglou - KEX. Colours and landscapes
Christos Kechagioglou, known as KEX, was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1960. His artistic journey began in 1978, when he embarked on a path of painting. Initially pursuing civil engineering at the Technical University of Thessaloniki, he concurrently undertook his first apprenticeship in painting under the guidance of Nikos Sachinis. Later, he expanded his artistic horizons by studying film directing in Athens, mentored by Dimos Theos and Pantelis Voulgaris. Subsequently, he earned his Master’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Paris I - Sorbonne, guided by Olivier Revault D’Allonnes, with a thesis exploring the intricate relationship between film and painting.
KEX has carved a multifaceted career, contributing significantly to cinema and advertising as a director and set designer - art director. His portfolio boasts numerous art videos and experimental films showcased in prestigious art venues, museums, galleries, and both Greek and international festivals. With a repertoire of 45 solo painting exhibitions since 1981 and participation in over 100 group exhibitions globally, KEX's impact on the art scene is profound.
