The Greek designer and artist Katerina Momitsa lives and works in Athens.
She studied International & European Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, as well as Spanish Literature at the Don Quijote Academy in Salamanca. For more than eight years, Katerina worked with Non-Governmental Organizations before dedicating herself to her true passion—art and creative expression.
In 2015, her artistic journey led her to Istanbul, where she studied the ancient art of Ebru under the renowned master Kubilay Eralp Dincer. This centuries-old art form is passed down through a close teacher–student tradition, making the guidance of a true master essential.
Since then, Katerina has deepened her practice through seminars with some of the world’s greatest Ebru masters and has participated in international conventions and exhibitions in Prague, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
In 2017, she founded Athens’ first Ebru Studio, specializing in textile design. From this space, she began creating collections of hand-crafted silk scarves and accessories, transferring her designs directly from water onto fabric using the techniques of Ebru and Suminagashi.
Passionate about the healing power of art, she also completed the Art Therapy program at Aegean University. Today, she teaches Ebru in her studio and collaborates with various art and social institutions, while continually evolving her craft and exploring new dimensions of this unique art form.
