This icon is made in accordance with the traditional art style of Byzantine iconography, with the wood layered with linen cloth and primed with chalk (gesso) for a smooth, consistent surface. The piece is then varnished with three layers for added protection and durability, ensuring that it will remain timeless for generations to come.
The icon is a faithful reproduction of the renowned prototype icon created by the celebrated iconographer and painter, Fotis Kontoglou. Measuring 30X35X3cm, it features stunning 22k gold gilding that highlights the intricate details and striking beauty of this beloved saint.
